Here is a cool race movie from Carl
Morris.
Speaking of G-Techs, I took the GVR4 to NW Wyoming for Christmas,
with the intention if playing with my little brother's G-Tech, and harassing
my uncle who bought an LS1 WS6 Ram-Air Trans-Am last year. There
was snow everywhere but the middle of the roads, and as a result, I couldn't
take off hard without spinning for a few feet. I was a bit disappointed
that I couldn't get into the 4's. I was running basically 5 flat
0-60 times, and mid-high 13s at 102.5mph (as usual, G-Techs are about 3mph
fast at the end). I took a couple gallons of Xylene with me to use
for octane booster. It helped, but I still couldn't run more than
16psi without significant knock.
So anyway, last night (Christmas) we're having a family get-together,
and I convince my uncle to bring the TA. Afterwards we head out together
to run them. I pulled my exhaust cap, and we went for it. I
beat him pretty bad the first run, and on the second run I waited until
I saw him move, still beating him but not as bad. Anyway, here's
the good part: I had my little brother ride with him, and run a video
camera. We now have VHS footage from inside the TA, of a GVR4 giving
it the smackdown!!! ;-)
